Back at Home

I'm sorry I've been so delinquent with blogging! We were on vacation last week visiting some family and I didn't have my act together enough to do a blog post mentioning that before I left. As much as I was looking forward to getting away, and as much as it was nice to see family and friends and get some rest, it's also good to be home, get back to our normal routines, and hang out with our dog again.

Spring Snapshots

Dirt around his mouth means Oscar's been exploring the yard.

We've really been enjoying spring over the last few weeks, so I thought I would share a few pictures that I've taken. I hope spring has sprung where you are, too!

Summer in March

It is beautiful out there right now. I'm not kidding when I say it feels like summer in March. The temperature has been in the 20s, the sun is out, and plants are growing. I'm a realistic enough Canadian to know that this won't last - in fact, the temperatures are set to dip to around 6 degrees this weekend - so I'm trying to enjoy this warm weather as much as I can while it sticks around.

Spring is Here!

Finally! Less than a week ago, there was snow on the ground, even though you could see it had started melting. That's when I took the first picture. Now, the snow is almost completely gone, though in my neck of the woods, we still get snow into April so it's probably not totally gone for good. But it was unbelievably warm yesterday, and sunny too, so I can't complain. The second picture was taken yesterday.

Oh, Canada...

I love Canada. There are so many wonderful, beautiful things about this country that I would never want to give up to live somewhere else. However, on days like yesterday when we got a winter storm warning, and today when it's still super windy, snowy and cold, I wonder why I don't live somewhere where they only see snow on TV. Even the dog barely knows what to do with himself when there's this much snow out there.

Puppy Love

We have a one and a half year-old miniature schnauzer named Oscar. I love him to bits. He's a smart little guy and is good at tricks. Since he's smart, he can be a bit stubborn too - he gets ideas of his own and sometimes decides not to listen to us, especially if he's outside and sees a bird, squirrel, rabbit, or another dog. He loves chewing things, especially things he's not allowed to have, like tissues, paper or socks, which is why we buy him loads of chew toys.
